C.K. Wearden made a commitment to her art in 1974 and by 1977 she was winning awards in drawing and painting. By 1978,portraits of Native Americans began to grace the surface of her canvases.
Primarily self taught, C. K. would travel from her home in Sun Valley, Idaho to Jacksonhole, Wyoming and study paintings of some of the top western artists in the USA.
Today, C.K. Wearden paints in series, or bodies of work, and has given them titles. Her latest, the "Raven Series", began taking form in 2004 and is now available in Limited Edition Giclee Prints.
"I knew by the time I was 12 years old, I wanted to be an artist... I might say emphatically, an oil painter. I absolutely loved Renoir and many years later I found out we shared the same birth date..."
